The Green Movement

Everywhere you turn, someone mentions the "Green Phoenomenon" or the "Green Movement". It's a trend that can no longer be ignored, and companies that choose to continue to act in environmentally unfriendly ways will ultimately give way and make room for newer, eco-friendly companies that care about our environment, our planet, and conserving our natural resources. You can help by only choosing to work with companies that are taking an active part in building awareness and making efforts to conserve and preserve.

Stringfellow Decorative Concrete Solutions is an independent, certified dealer and installer of PermaCrete® products, which are classified as green products. Our company is committed to being "Green" by making the most efficient use of all products and equipment used to install PermaCrete® applications and operate our business, and choosing to use Green products and work with other environmentally friendly companies whenever possible.

Volatile Organic Compounds

Volatile Organic Compounds, or VOCs, are typically a variety of chemicals that are emitted from certain materials. Some of these VOCs can have short or long-term adverse health effects. Thousands of products that you use every single day contain VOCs, and these gases are emitted when you use the products, and sometimes even as the products are stored.

The United States has a standard minimum for VOC emissions (you know that recently implemented emissions inspection you have to get yearly on your vehicle?). 90% of PermaCrete® products have VOC ratings of under 100 g/l, which classifies them as having an environmentally-safe VOC content. Additionally, 100% of all emissions from Perma-Crete products occurs within seven (7) days in any application.

LEED

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a Green building rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. Quality Systems, Inc., the manufacturer of PermaCrete® products, is an active member of the U.S. Green Building Council. The LEED system evaluates the environmental efficiency of a building and can offer certification to buildings meeting its standards. Buildings earning LEED certification showed impressive reductions in use of resources, a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, and even a reduction in employee sick time.

PermaCrete®'s website offers extensive information regarding the VOC levels of each of their products, and how using PermaCrete® for your next project can help your building earn LEED points.
